Drifting Home ( Ame wo Tsugeru Hyouryuu Danchi )

Drifting Home is the third animated film from the animation studio, Studio Colorido. One summer day, Kosuke and Natsume discover a building about to be demolished.

This building is where they once lived. Growing up there, the place brings back many memories for them, but as they play, they suddenly get caught up in a mysterious phenomenon. When they regain consciousness, they see an entire ocean in front of them as the housing complex has drifted into the sea.

Will they be able to return to their previous world?

Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of a Dark Dusk

Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of a Dark Dusk is a sequel to Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night. The story jumps to Asuna as she is forced to battle through all 100 floors of the immersive world of Aincrad in order to escape. She is at the conquest of the fifth floor.

The movie was slated to premiere on September 10, 2022, but it was delayed due to COVID.

The First Slam Dunk

The First Slam Dunk is one of the most anticipated sports-new anime movies of 2022. We follow the story of Hanamichi Sakuragi, a thug with rebellious tendencies, particularly unlucky in love.

When he enters Shohoku High School, he meets Haruko Akagi, a big basketball fan with whom he immediately falls in love.

Very quickly, Sakuragi decides to join the high school basketball team and meets Takenori Akagi, alias the Gorilla, Haruko’s big brother! But that’s not all, he also discovers that Kaede Rukawa, the best freshman player in the department and idol of all the girls, including Haruko, is also part of the team!

Between rivalries and mutual support, Sakuragi and his new comrades set out to conquer the national title!

Suzume no Tojimari

Among the remarkable anime movies of 2022, Suzume no Tojimari is to be watched very closely because it is from Makoto Shinkai, the director of the masterpieces Weathering with You and Your Name. Suzume is a 17-year-old girl who lives in a quiet little town on the island of Kyushu, Japan. One day, she meets a wanderer who tells her that he is looking for a door.

Curious, she follows him and discovers with him, in the middle of ruins, the coveted door.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh

The film The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh was a new project produced by Netflix. This feature film consists of two parts, the premiere of which is expected for December 2022 on Netflix.

It should serve as a transition between The Seven Deadly Sins series and the Four Knights of the Apocalypse series.

We follow Tristan, the son of Elizabeth Liones and Meliodas. He is a very energetic, tenacious boy who is also the Prince of Liones. Tristan notably shares the shape of his face as well as his hairstyle with his father. He borrows the silver hair as well as the length from his mother.

Tristan inherits the power of the Goddess Clan and can heal people’s wounds but he often ends up hurting others due to his inability to control his Demon Clan power. To protect his family, Tristan travels to Edinburgh Castle and meets a host of new friends along the way.

Black Clover Movie

This is an anime film based on the Black Clover manga pre-published in February 2015 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. For the time being, it has not been specified whether this film will be a sequel to the anime or will feature an original story.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War: The First Kiss Never Ends

This anime film is the adaptation of The First Kiss Never Ends arc from the manga. In this arc, Kaguya and Miyuki finally come to terms with the reality that they both avoid, which one of them has to confess to as their relationship progresses.

Season 3 of the anime ended with Kaguya and Miyuki finally reaching a milestone in their years-long battle. This makes you wonder what will be the next step for the couple, who have not really confessed their feelings yet.

The fourth season of the series is under production actually

The First Kiss Never Ends aired on MBS on March 31, 2023, at 01:55 am JST (12:55 pm ET). If you have never heard of the series, it is worth watching while waiting for the movie. It is one of the best love anime to watch right now.

Psycho-Pass Providence

The project is presented as an anniversary film intended to thank the fans for the 10 years of the series. It is part of the whole event intended to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the saga.

This is the fourth PSYCHO-PASS film after PSYCHO-PASS: The Movie, PSYCHO-PASS: Sinners of the System and PSYCHO-PASS 3: First Inspector.

The anime series comprises a total of three seasons, the first two of which can be found on ADN, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, while the third is exclusively available on Amazon. Psycho-Pass Providence was released in Japan on May 12, 2023

YURI!!! on ICE The Movie: ICE ADOLESCENCE

YURI!!! on ICE the Movie: Ice Teenager is an animated film that will be the prequel to the 2016 series, Yuri!!! on Ice. The film was scheduled for 2019 but was then postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic.

The plot will revolve around the youth of Victor Nikiforov, one of the main characters of the series. Unfortunately, the exact date has been revealed yet.

The film My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom is based on the novel of the same name by Satoru Yamaguchi originally published between July 2014 and March 2015.

The original work was later adapted into a light novel format by Japanese publisher Ichijinsha in August 2015, with illustrations by Nami Hidaka.

Overlord the Movie: The Holy Kingdom

The movie Overlord – The Holy Kingdom is adapted from the light novel Overlord written by Kugane Maruyama. This feature film, which directly follows the fourth season of the animated series, notably covers the events presented during the “Holy Kingdom” arc of the light novel.

In this film, The cruel and ruthless Jaldabaoth, at the head of a powerful army composed of demi-humans, decides to storm and invade the Holy Kingdom of Roble.

Unable to defend their subjects from themselves, the country’s rulers seek the help of the Witch King Ainz Ooal Gown, yet one of their worst enemies, in the hope that he will agree to lend a hand.

Following multiple requests from the Liberation Army, which wishes above all to rescue the besieged citizens, the King of Darkness agrees to take command of the Holy Kingdom and therefore goes on a crusade against the Demon Emperor.

This is a film from the Mappa Studio. This is the story of young people who struggle in an unstable world and who fight against fate with love as their weapon. We don’t have any additional information about the movie yet but it is a remarkable anime movie of 2022.
